CORRECTION OF LAW-OFFENDERS

BAPTISM AND DONATIONS TO NTCHEU PRISONERSBY THE SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH

Even the Church has its role in the rehabilitation.   Saturday, 21 January 2000 was a memorable day for inmates of Ntcheu Prison. Ntcheu Adventist Youth Association (NAYA) baptised prisoners and donated 167 books and two cartons of Lifebouy soap. The leader of delegationbaptism.jpg (7256 bytes) Pastor C.F. Mazinga said that he thought of visiting the prisoners after baring in mind their spiritual and physical need. The baptism ceremony was conducted by Pastor H.S. Bonya and Pastor Nkolimbo. 34 Prisoners were baptised. The donation was presented to the prisoners by a 12 year old girl of NAYA, Bettie Mandolo.

The Regional prisons officer Senior Assistant Commissioner of Prisons Mcdonald Chaona and Officer in Charge of Ntcheu Prison W/Assistant Superintendent N.L. Namakupula thanked NAYA for the donation. He said that the donation will help the prisoners in recreation, spiritual life and education and asked other organisations to follow the good example of NAYA.

The Public Relations Officer, Mr. T.C. Nowa said that donations are welcome as long as they follow proper channels.
