Equip
participants with the basic knowledge, skills and understanding of the
importance of records and the need for proper records management practices
for effective organizational performance and also to provoke action
amongst participants to re-organize records management systems in their
respective institutions |

To
introduce participants to the value of records and their contribution
to effective organizational performance.

To
introduce participants to the concepts and principles of proper
records management practices.

To
familiarize participants with the role of the National Archives of
Malawi in the promotion of sound and proper records management
practices in line with established standards that are currently in use
in Malawi.

To
harmonize and strengthen the participants’ capabilities in the
management and utilization of records and other sources of recorded
information so that they should be able to discharge their duties with
confidence.

To
introduce participants to the inseparable working relationship between
published and unpublished sources of information in meeting the
information needs of an institution.

To
familiarize participants with the concept of Information Communication
Technologies (ICT) and how ICT has affected the global world with
regard to conventional practices of records management, and sensitize
participants in the new areas of concern relating to the management of
electronic records in Malawi.

To
provide a forum for participants to share ideas, experiences,
problems, etc, and establish a link for solving problems of common
interest.
